When the Pentagon does Augmented Reality

Gravity Jack In the Press

The Pentagon is funny. Seriously who could wear this? Get a football helmet, put camera’s on it, paint it Army green and roll. The concept is great but they need to enlist a designer from Apple and make them Design Officer.

The funniest part is he new push is called the the Soldier Centric Imaging via Computational Cameras effort, or SCENICC.

Seriously? Uhhh, how about H.A.H.? Huge Augmented Helmet

In addition to being able to see in 360 degrees around you, soldiers also get “high-resolution computer-enhanced imagery as well as task-specific non-image data products such as mission data overlays, threat warnings/alerts, targeting assistance, etc.” (again more words for augmented reality)

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
