WORLD OF TANKS AR EXPERIENCE
The WARGAMING.NET World of Tanks Augmented Reality Experience is an iOS and Android app that lets users battle historic military tanks and planes in their current environment. Using the app’s menu, users can select from a Soviet T-44 tank (a never released tank that isn’t on display anywhere in the World), a German Tiger 1 tank, and a Stuka dive bomber airplane. With a 3D version of their military machinery selected, users can place realistic objects within their environment to pit them against each other in an epic AR battle that features animations of tanks and planes firing their defense systems.
For this project, Gravity Jack leveraged the Apple ARKit and Android ARCore Augmented Reality platforms so that the battles can take place both at scale and on a tabletop. The AR experience includes animations that showcase the assembly of the tanks and planes with text callouts that inform users of the different part names on the 3D model. This project is Gravity Jack’s second project with WARGAMING.NET and came about after the successful release of the AR tank installation at the Tank Museum in Bovington, England. Gravity Jack worked closely with the client for this project for a successful release in Japan, England, Korea, and several other countries.

The Goal
Follow the WARGAMING.NET brand and create a gaming experience where users can interact with and learn about historic tanks and planes on their mobile devices.
Gravity Jack’s Solution
Create a series of realistic 3D models and animations that users can place within an AR scene. To add the gaming component, Gravity Jack added the ability for the tanks and planes to fire missels at eachother and battle against eachother.
The Result
An iOS and Android mobile application that can be downloaded across several different countries that is home to an AR-based gaming experience that allows WARGAMING.NET fans to interact with beyond their regular gaming system.
