TOPLINE FURNITURE APP
Wanting to provide potential customers with a realistic perspective of what select pieces of furniture will look like prior to purchase, the team at INSPIREQ contacted Gravity Jack. Together, the two teams created the Top-Line Furniture app — a contemporary try before you buy experience that uses the power of augmented reality to virtually place true-to-size furniture throughout a user’s home or office. Within the AR space, the app allows users to rotate the 3D models of the furniture in any direction and lock it in place in order to walk around and view it from any angle. From there, users can explore the different colors and features that furniture offers while it’s locked in place.
Since INSPIREQ asked that the app be developed specifically for iOS devices, Gravity Jack leveraged Apple’s ARKits software. The inclusion of ARKit allowed the app to more accurately place the 3D models within the AR scene. ARKit’s spatial awareness detects flat surfaces to ensure the 3D model is correctly placed on the floor — it also has the ability to recognize other objects within a user’s room. Through 3D asset optimization, thoughtful UI/UX design, and augmented reality, Gravity Jack allowed INSPIREQ and their customers to place lifesize furniture in their home simply by using a mobile application!
