SUMITOMO DRIVE PT EXPERIENCE
In a partnership with the team at Sumitomo Drive Technologies, Gravity Jack developed the PT Experience Augmented Reality App to be compatible with Apple’s iPad. Equipped with the app, Sumitomo sales representatives brought their patented Cyclo and Bevel BuddyBox gearmotors to life through a series of 3D animations — giving customers an in-depth look into the mechanics of the product. Through AR’s virtual product display capabilities, the PT Experience provides app users with an exploded view of each of the internal and external features of the Cyclo and Bevel BuddyBox — a task that can’t be duplicated in person with the actual machinery.
With the ability to take their products anywhere, the PT Experience allows users to view and interact with several to scale products virtually in the real world, without having the products physically present. By selecting the external view of each product, users of the application can explore all 360º of both units and learn about the unique features visible to the outside. Conversely, the internal view showcases the unique arrangement of components and comprehensive design that goes into each of Sumitomo’s products. In addition to insight into the products, the PT Experience app enables users to email Sumitomo, locate their nearest Sumitomo Drive Technologies’ sales representative, visit Sumitomo’s global website or online product configurator.
