PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
To create the Samsung TV True Fit app, Gravity Jack’s 3D team immediately went to work replicating realistic versions of three different TV sizes (75″, 65″, and 55″). Those models were then incorporated into the development of the app which supports Apple’s ARKit and Android’s ARcore technology to enhance the AR experience’s spacial awareness and object detection. The addition of these technologies helps provide perspective on the true to size models regardless of where a user is standing in a room. With the development underway, our design team conceptualized a very detailed UI/UX for the app that best compliment the app’s tutorial.

LANDSCAPE MOBILE DESIGNS
Gravity Jack designed a landscape mobile environment to ensure users could get a complete view of the television within the desired space. This feature leverages the mobile devices gyroscope to determine the phone’s orientation (landscape or portrait).

The Goal
SAMSUNG wanted to give customers a preview of how their different TV sizes would fit in their home with the ability to provide them with the location of the nearest store with that size and model in stock.

Create a custom application that features augmented reality that can accurately place realistic 3D models of SAMSUNG TVs on any wall within a user’s home. Additionally, integrate localization functionality so that users can locate the store carrying their desired model — creating the ultimate try-before-you-buy experience.
The Result
With the help of Gravity Jack, SAMSUNG was able to provide customers with an online shopping experience that leaves nothing to the imagination. Users were able to get a real perspective of what a TV would look like in their home prior to purchase and then locate the nearest store with the selected TV in stock.
