The company, specializing in custom augmented reality, virtual reality, mobile apps and computer vision technologies, has announced changes in two key leadership positions

In a statement today, Joshua Abel, Gravity Jack’s recently appointed CEO, has announced two personnel changes affecting key leadership positions within the company’s structure, taking effect immediately.

In the first announcement, made to the company’s staff at its Liberty Lake headquarters, Gravity Jack’s long time Director of Development, Shawn Poindexter, Ph.D., was promoted to the role of Chief Technical Officer.

Dr. Poindexter, a noted leader in software development with experience from mobile applications to high-performance scientific computing, joined Gravity Jack after receiving his doctoral degree in computational astrophysics from The Ohio State University. He joined shortly after the company’s founding, in 2010. Over the last five years, Poindexter has served as technical lead and director of development on Gravity Jack’s extensive portfolio, including both commercial and defense industry clients – most notably Kraft Foods, Boeing and The United States Department of Defense.

In addition to his work leading Gravity Jack’s development team of over 25, Dr. Poindexter has worked to co-author four patent applications on computer vision and augmented reality (two of which have been awarded to date), lead the creation of a computer vision algorithm for Boeing, directed the creation of an augmented reality SDK and developed a unique, sonic ranging mobile application.

In the second announcement of the afternoon, Pendergraf “Penn” Brownlee, was promoted to the role of Director of Digital Production, from Digital Producer. Under his new role, Brownlee will lead Gravity Jack’s growing team of digital producers, strategizing the company’s direct relations with commercial clients on a daily basis.

Brownlee joined Gravity Jack in May of 2014, with years of program management experience, after graduating from Eastern Washington University, Cum Laude, with a degree in Economics. Over the last year at Gravity Jack, Penn has overseen all aspects of the company’s high-profile commercial projects while holding an instrumental role in the growth and selection of Gravity Jack’s development team.

Both team members will be assuming their positions effective immediately.
